AAROTEC was retained by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Organization of the Ministry of Aviation and Tourism for development of a new passenger terminal for Luxor International Airport. The project was jointly financed by the Egyptian government and the World Bank as part of a large tourism infrastructure project in Luxor.
The project included a feasibility study for the terminal, master plan, design, and supervision of construction. The terminal was designed to accommodate a peak-hour volume of 600 passengers, and to serve both international and domestic travelers.
In addition to the terminal, the project included an access road, automobile parking, landscaping and supporting facilities.
The design of a new control tower was also added to the project. For this complex project, AAROTEC acted as the managing partner in a joint venture with two other partners.
